Walking Tours Jerusalem

Jerusalem is a very walkable city. The historical center — usually referred to simply as "Old City", divided into Muslim, Christian, Jewish and Armenian quarters — is entirely pedestrian, and the newer parts of the city have many pedestrian streets, too. One of the most famous Jerusalem streets — Jaffa Street — is semi-pedestrian, with a tram line in the middle. As a result, walking tours Jerusalem are highly popular among tourists who come to the Israeli capital, in no small part because it is the only way to uncover all of its hidden gems. Genesis Boutique Travel is offering regular walking tours Jerusalem with professional guides in multiple languages.

What does a tour include?

Our walking tour will begin at the entrance to Mamilla: the now dry pool built by Herodes the Great, which in the 19th century was rebuilt into the Mamilla neighborhood, which, in turn, was rebuilt into the Mamilla Mall in 2007. Today Mamilla Street is the main upscale shopping street in Jerusalem. From Mamilla, we will enter the Jewish Quarter of the Old City, where we will see the Roman Cardo and the Broad Wall. Then we will see the Southern Wall Excavations of the Temple, and view the Temple Mount, holy for all three Abrahamic religions. We will visit the Room of the Last Supper and King David's Tomb, take a look at the Pools of Bethesda, and follow the way of the cross on Via Dolorosa. We will finish the tour by visiting the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, built on the place where Jesus was crucified and where he rose from the dead, and exit the city via the Arab market. During the tour, we will be able to enjoy Arab tastes and sweets.

You may book the tour on the tour page, or by contacting us via the contact form if you have any special requests.

Maybe you come to Jerusalem on a business trip and do not have much free time, maybe you are a pilgrim, maybe you just want to discover the Holy Land. Regardless of which of those is true, walking tours Jerusalem are the best opportunity to discover the most of this city: especially because it is easy for a tourist to get lost in the old city, and the connectivity there is not the best. Our experienced guide will make sure that you do not miss the most important landmarks of the city.

A walking tour is the best way to explore the old city of Jerusalem, where the majority of historical sights are located, and which is almost exclusively pedestrian. Our walking tours depart from Mamilla Plaza on a daily basis and individual tours are available upon request. If you look for a more extensive itinerary, we may suggest you our Jerusalem and Bethlehem Tour, which lets you discover those two cities within the same day. Please note that all tours to the Palestinian Authority are subject to confirmation.
